The Corn party in Brazil is a traditional event that, initially, when the Portuguese brought it, during colonization, there were only religious connotations. Today, it is a multicultural festival that celebrates the cultural diversity of Brazil and maintains fun traditions.

It’s true that the carnival and the Copacabana’s reveillon are very popular, joyful and unique. But the corn party leaves nothing to be desired.

Of course we have some negative points like in some places, especially in the urbain southeast region. Where some traditions are a little worn, and we don’t have so much cultural enrichment being passed on. Also, the party sometimes is still linked to the church, even if in a very punctual way.

However, none of these points are so expresives to get over the positives aspects. Yes, sometimes the party happens in the church yard, but this doesn’t stop the play, the music or the dance and does not prevent anyone from attending. The cultural aspects, like the dance and the literature of twine are learned in the schools of all the country, so even when the party suffers from modern influences, they continue there.

The pros of the corn party are diverses. First, the traditional food is really very great. It’s hard to elect what plate is the best. The traditional music comes mainly from the northeast, where we have forró and baião, it’s not just good, but very rich in culture. The dances are very lively, and some are great for dancing in pairs or alone. We often have stage performances during the party, which are very funny. Just like traditional games and competitions, which often yield gifts.

The parties answer for all the ages. From kids to adults, they all can participate in the show, dance, participate in the games, wear costumes and a lot of things.

Because it is an event that happens even in schools, children learn about diverse and unique cultural aspects of the country from an early age. Therefore, the Corn festival is very important not only to create good memories with friends and family, but also as an important learning about the vast culture present in Brazilian states.

Therefore, it is no wonder that many consider the best celebration and commemoration of the year. Many families even gather to organize their own Corn party. Either way, it happens all over the country and makes many people happy.
